cRIO OPIF 5MBit/s

cRIO OPIF 5MBit/s

The "cRIO OPIF 5MBit/s" module is a powerful solution for optical communication over fiber optic cables (FOC) in National Instruments Compact-RIO systems. It serves as an adapter module that enables the transition from electronic signals to optical transmissions, ensuring reliable, high-frequency signal transmission over longer distances with minimal susceptibility to interference.

Technical Description

The module utilizes HFBR transmitter/receiver technology with a wavelength of 820 nm.
The components offer excellent coupling efficiency that is compatible with a variety of fiber types. This technology ensures efficient coupling in fiber optic systems - Plastic-Clad Silica (PCS).

It is equipped with 2 transmitters and 2 receivers that enable stable communication over fiber optic cables. The module supports data rates of up to 5 MBit/s and is compatible with commonly used industrial connectors such as SC, ST, and FC.

Thanks to the use of the 820 nm Miniature Link Series, a cost-effective and high-performance solution for optical communication, the module is capable of establishing reliable connections over several kilometers.

With an example of software integration in LabVIEW, the modules can be easily integrated into Compact-RIO-based systems, increasing their flexibility and adaptability in industrial applications.
