Technical description

The module uses AFBR transmitter/receiver technology, which combines a 650 nm LED source with integrated optics and a driver IC. This technology ensures efficient coupling into 1 mm polymer optical fiber (POF). The receiver consists of an IC with an integrated photodiode that converts the optical signal into a logic-compatible output signal.

The “cRIO OPIF 25MBit/s” module offers a high data rate of 25 MBit/s and uses “Versatile Link” technology to transmit optical signals reliably. It is equipped with 3 transmitters and 3 receivers that allow simultaneous signal transmission on multiple channels. The data rate of 25 MBit/s ensures the fast and precise communication required in many industrial applications.

An example of software integration is available in LabVIEW, so the module can easily be integrated into existing CompactRIO-based systems. With an optional adapter module, the product can also be used with the National Instruments sbRIO family.
